About the Program
The National Program for the Development of the Livestock and Fisheries Sector was established by Council of Ministers resolution in 2016. The livestock sector was recently added to the Program’s scope; the Program serves as the executive arm for activating the government’s strategy to develop aquaculture, capture fisheries and livestock in sustainable ways, so as to increase their contribution to national GDP in line with the aspirations of Vision 2030.
The Program has been empowered with a package of technical and financial enablers and administrative competencies to manage the initiatives and projects that will elevate the livestock and fisheries sector, and to lead and enable the private sector to keep pace with the ambitions and aspirations of Saudi Vision 2030.
